Native art contest deadline and women’s health

   Posted by: admin    in Health

Here’s an email I’ll share with readers because the organizers are helping women take care of their health.

Dear Jodi,

I am the outreach worker for the Montana Breast and Cervical Health Program. I am excited to announce that we are hosting the first annual T-shirt design contest funded by the AVON Foundation Breastcare Fund! We would like anyone interested to create a design incorporating Native American art with an emphasis on women’s health. The winning design will be featured on a t-shirt that will be given out to Native American women who receive FREE cancer screenings through our program. When the women wear the t-shirts they will inspire their loved ones to get screened and be healthy as well.

We welcome people of all ages from around the state to enter their artwork. The winning artist will be honored at a celebration and receive a framed poster of their artwork! The deadline is May 1st, 2009 so encourage everyone you know to work on their design and submit it to Alta Pruyn at the Montana Breast and Cervical Health Program, 323 West Alder Street, Missoula MT, 59802. If you have any questions call Alta at 258-4168. Attached is a poster for the event and the guidelines along with an entry form.

Thank you so much for your help!

Sincerely, Alta Pruyn
