The director of the Blackfeet Nation’s Homeland Security Program and Emergency Services program has been named to a new U.S. Department of Homeland Security Task Force.
Robert DesRosier of Browning will be one of 35 members of the task force that will assess the nation’s disaster preparedness, the Associated Press reports here. The task force was announced yesterday by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, and comprises local, state, tribal and federal components.
“Robert’s got the qualifications and the know-how to make Montanans proud in this new role,” said U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, Montana’s only member of the Homeland Security Committee.
Tester added that “he’s going to bring a rural America perspective and some Montana common sense to the table as we continue to strengthen our nation’s security.”
