More than $2 million worth of these monster shellfish have been dug up from the Puget Sound this year. As the ICTMN reports, it’s a big year for geosducks – the world’s largest clams. They’ve have been very lucrative for several tribes who sell the seafood to Asian countries so far. The Suquamish Tribe now counts the large clams as a $6 million a year business, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Those are tremendous clams. Are they tough and suitable mainly for chowder or can you use them for other types of cooking. At http://seafoodrecipes.tv I feature many clam recipes but I’ve never heard of this variety of clams. Are they available on the east coast. Thanks
